Mal and Criss was first founded in November 2010 during a thoughtful and inspiring conversation between Mallory McLane and Criseida Rico. Sitting with their coffees in their Fashion Forecasting class they realized their common interests in fashion, design, and anything creative. Their newly found friendship soon evolved into the world of Mal and Criss and took on a life of its own. With their ability to network, they have been able to market themselves as the ultimate duo. Their current and previous retail experience with stores such as Macy’s, Banana Republic, BCBG Max Azria, Michael Kors, and fashion forward boutique cheZelle, has given them the entrepreneurial spirit to develop a brand of their own. Together, they bring their styling, visual, marketing, and public relations experience into newly found power as creative consultants.
Both transfers from business schools looking to focus on the professional side of the fashion industry, Mal and Criss ended up at the Art Institute of Charlotte where they graduated in December 2011 with Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Fashion Marketing and Management. Their hopes are to land the job of their dreams and make a name for themselves in the world of fashion. Criss currently resides in Charlotte, NC working at today's most jet-set and chic label, Michael Kors, while Mal has moved to the Middle East to live in Dubai, where she is working as the Online Fashion Editor for Boutique1.com.
